MR. DISRESPECTFUL took control inside rivals early, inched ahead entering the backstretch, took pressure in the middle stages, dueled around the far turn, battled in the two path turning for home, inched ahead in upper stretch, maintained a short lead over CANANI into deep stretch, drifted out and bumped that rival near the wire and held on. CANANI raced up close from outside then chased into the backstretch, drew alongside the leader again in the middle stages, fought on even terms around the far turn, hounded the leader into deep stretch, dug in late and got bumped near the wire to narrowly miss. SPEED GRAZY tracked in range from the two path, chased between rivals up the backstretch, remained two wide through the far turn, pursued within striking distance of the top pair into the final furlong, failed to produce a bid but was able to edge KERRY GOLD for third. KERRY GOLD stumbled leaving the gate, took a stalking position on the rail, came under a ride on the far turn, also lacked a bid in the late stages and got outfinished for the show honors. PASS THE BATON raced up close four deep into the first turn then dropped off the pace, chased just out of range into the second bend, angled out and came six wide into the lane, churned on down the stretch but failed to threaten. SOGNO DI VINO was forwardly placed three deep early, continued off the rail up the backstretch, asked right handed three wide turning for home and weakened. CITY OF ANGELS settled three then two wide off the pace between rivals, chased two wide into the far turn, angled five wide around the bend and lacked further response. THE GYPSY COWBOY raced outside a rival at the back early, trailed alone in the middle stages, split rivals at the quarter pole and could not make an impact. PETESOLDFASHIONED chased four then three wide around the clubhouse turn, raced outside a rival near the back into the second bend, eased out to the four path, angled out further in upper stretch and was never a factor. FIX IT QUICK was off slow to begin, trailed inside a rival early, saved ground near the back on the far turn and was outrun. THE RIDER ABOARD CANANI LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST MR. DISRESPECTFUL FOR INTERFERENCE NEAR THE WIRE. THERE WAS ALSO A STEWARDS' INQUIRY REGARDING THE SAME INCIDENT. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED MR. DISRESPECTFUL FROM FIRST TO SECOND FOR SHIFTING OUT AND MAKING CONTACT WITH CANANI NEAR THE WIRE, COSTING HIM A CHANCE AT A BETTER PLACING.
