WESTWOOD took control early outside PENALTY BOX, crossed over on that rival into the first turn, controlled the pace to the far turn, took pressure from HARMONIQUE at the five-sixteenths pole, shook free in upper stretch and drew away under right handed urging and steady handling. PENALTY BOX coaxed from the gate, raced up close inside WESTWOOD then got put in tight and had to steady into the first turn, stalked under a hold, ran up on the heels of WESTWOOD at the five-sixteenths pole, cut the corner into the lane, kept trying through the stretch but could not make any headway on the winner. HARMONIQUE was closest in pursuit from the two path, challenged from outside at the five-sixteenths pole, got turned away by the winner in upper stretch and flattened to third. PRANK ZAPPA tracked from inside in hand, drew close inside rivals on the backstretch, roused past the five-sixteenths pole, tipped two wide leaving the bend and weakened. LORENZO BERNINI trailed on the inside, gained up the backstretch while moving off the rail, had to steady when running up behind a rival at the seven-sixteenths pole, chased two then three wide on the far turn and lacked a rally. BALLYHOOLIGAN settled outside a rival in the early going, went there wide into the far turn, moved out to the four path around the bend, trailed into the stretch and had little left for the drive.
