Footnotes
BIG JUANITO was off slow to begin, settled off the rail, moved into range three deep in the middle stages, challenged four then three deep on the far turn, took over late on the bend, kicked clear in upper stretch and drew away under hand urging. TAMARANDO STAR bobbled slightly at the start, raced up close to the outside of the pacesetter, applied pressure on the backstretch, bid between rivals on the far turn, took the lead briefly at the quarter pole, lost command to the winner shortly after, yielded in upper stretch and stayed on to secure second. AMERICAN EMPIRE broke a step slow, pulled in hand on the inside early, traveled two wide leaving the far turn, cut back inside at the top of the lane, moved back off the fence not too long after, lost the crop at the eighth pole, showed some late effort from inside and gained third. BROTHER TONY rated in the two path between rivals, asked on the far turn, came three wide into the drive and lost the show honors. MAJESTIC PALISADES tracked three wide outside rivals on the clubhouse turn, challenged three deep leaving the backstretch, could not keep up with the leaders midway around the far turn, came five wide into the lane and weakened. STANDARD OF PROOF stalked along the inside, roused at the five-sixteenths pole, tipped out entering the stretch and weakened. SUPERMAX broke a step slow and outward, trailed two wide early, went four wide into the stretch and was never a factor. WHATS THE BUZZ grabbed the early lead and moved inside, took pressure in the middle stages, fought for the lead inside rivals on the far turn, lost command at the quarter pole, chased the new leader into the lane and folded.
