CORPORAL VIOLETTE (IRE) tracked from inside out of range, gained inside a rival on the backstretch, tipped two wide on the far turn, got boxed in from the quarter pole to the top of the lane, bid between rivals in upper stretch, dueled inside EMPRESS ELLIE in deep stretch and edged that rival in the closing moments. EMPRESS ELLIE sat off the pace in the two path, moved into range in the middle stages, chased three deep at the quarter pole, challenged three deep into the lane, took the lead in upper stretch, resisted outside CORPORAL VIOLETTE (IRE) in the late stages but came up just short in the end. DEA MATRONA (FR) raced well back outside a rival early, crept closer up the backstretch, tipped three wide around the far turn, chased determinedly after the top pair in the final furlong but could not summon the needed final kick. SHE'S A JOKER tracked from inside early, picked up stride in the middle stages, continued on the fence then moved to the two path around the far turn, tipped out into the lane and produced a mild rally to round out the superfecta. MADEIRA WINE stalked from inside, closed while outside a rival, drew alongside the leader past the three-eighths pole, took over approaching the quarter pole, lost command in upper stretch and flattened out. SUPER ELLIE saved ground from off the pace, tipped out in upper stretch and flattened out. RO TOWN sprinted to the front and controlled the pace with a comfortable advantage to the half-mile pole, carried a diminishing lead into the far turn, took pressure from MADEIRA WINE with three furlongs left to run, lost command outside the quarter pole, stayed on to upper stretch and weakened. ZEYARAAT tucked inside towards the rear, went two wide into the far turn, chased three wide leaving the bend, got floated out a bit into the lane and proved no menace.
