Footnotes
THIRD BEER shifted in at the start, settled inside, shifted in at the seven-sixteenths pole, saved ground to the stretch, moved out a bit and took a bump in upper stretch, angled out further and unleashed a late surge to get up in time. NO JOKE ANTARES tracked three wide around the first turn, asked three then four wide on the second bend, rallied in the final furlong but got outclosed by the winner. COLUMNIST dueled from inside, inched clear around the far turn, remained unchallenged approaching the sixteenth pole but got nailed by the top pair in the closing moments. DOING TIME stalked two wide between foes, went three deep into the far turn, tipped out into the lane, bumped the winner in upper stretch, then showed late effort to earn a minor award. UNRIVALED TIME was off slow to start, trailed on the inside, lacked room in traffic from the five-sixteenths pole to the quarter pole, tipped two wide into the lane, angled out further in the drive and finished with a belated rally. THREE PUTT pulled in the early going chasing from inside, continued to tug on the backstretch, roused on the far turn, asked right handed in the lane but flattened out. BANDOLERO raced up close outside the top pair, bid three deep at the seven-sixteenths pole, lost touch with the leader and chased three wide around that bend as well, then weakened in the lane. PASSION D ORO broke a step slow, steered to the inside, drew closer between rivals on the backstretch, got bumped on the far turn, angled to the rail and could not rally. FLASHY FRITZ dueled outside COLUMNIST to the far turn, could not kick on with that rival approaching the quarter pole, chased two wide into the lane and weakened. SLEEPER SULLIVAN was off a bit slow on the far outside, steered to the rail traveling near the back, went three wide into the far turn, stayed off the rail to the stretch, angled out in the lane and and never made an impact.
