Footnotes
IRON MAN CAL underwent a shoe repair in the paddock, took control early and set the pace up the backstretch, pressured by MARCH OF TIME leaving the backstretch, drew clear at the five-sixteenths pole, roused in the two path entering the lane, remained clear under right handed urging into the final sixteenth, came under threat from MOONLIGHT late and was able to hold. MOONLIGHT dropped off the pace early then made progress from outside up the backstretch, ridden along while four, five then six wide on the turn, chased within range with a furlong remaining, closed in steadily from outside in deep stretch, drew alongside IRON MAN CAL late but ran out of ground. BIG CITY LIGHTS chased three deep then angled to the two path approaching the turn, angled to the inside around the bend, rallied along the fence in the stretch and gained the show honors. STRONGHOLD raced up close on the inside, coaxed along saving ground through the turn, tipped out in upper stretch and finished evenly. MARCH OF TIME forward placed outside the pacesetter in the early going, applied pressure to IRON MAN CAL leaving the backstretch, could not sustain the challenge and gave chase two then three wide past the five-sixteenths pole and flattened out in the stretch run. DR. VENKMAN tracked between runner then outside a rival, fell out of range two then three wide on the turn and could not rally when called upon. VODKA VODKA stumbled, lost his path at the start and came in, lagged behind the field early, swung out into the stretch and passed tired rivals. GOLD SWEEP broke out and bumped BARTHOLDY, followed in range from inside, lost ground around the turn and weakened down the lane. JIMMY'S DAILYS stalked deep leaving the backstretch, chased three deep past the three-eighths pole, came five wide into the stretch, drifted in briefly at the eighth pole and weakened. BARTHOLDY got bumped by GOLD SWEEP at the start, tracked three deep approaching the turn, came four wide into the stretch and tired.
