GOLD PHOENIX (IRE) reserved in the early stages outside a rival, tracked two wide to the final turn, given his cue with a quarter mile remaining and angled four wide leaving the bend, challenged four deep into the final furlong, dug in outside STAY HOT and got up approaching the wire. STAY HOT settled next to the fence, moved up on the backstretch, got put in tight past the three-eighths pole, continued to save ground to the stretch, tipped out at the top of the lane, bid three deep between rivals with a furlong remaining, led into deep stretch and got edged by GOLD PHOENIX (IRE) in the end. ATITLAN reserved in the beginning and angled to the rail, crept closer on the backstretch, tipped two wide entering the lane, lacked room behind rivals and dove back inside, closed well from the rail and missed second. TRULY QUALITY unhurried three then two wide in the early going, continued in the two path on the clubhouse turn, exited the backstretch three deep, moved out in upper stretch, rallied through the lane and got outkicked for the show honors. MONDEGO (GB) laid off the pace outside a rival in hand, chased between runners in the two path on the final turn, angled out and came under a ride in upper stretch, finished well in the final furlong but could not summon the needed late punch. FINAL BOSS took control early and moved inside, controlled the pace to the far turn, met a pair of bids around the bend, dueled with CITY EXILE (GB) into the lane, resisted to midstretch and weakened late. CITY EXILE (GB) had to take a brief hold when a bit keen on the first turn stalking the FINAL BOSS, was closest in pursuit through the early stages, bid between rivals on the far turn then dueled outside FINAL BOSS into the lane, fought to midstretch and weakened in the last sixteenth. BALNIKHOV (IRE) unhurried in the opening stages on the inside, ran up on heels first time crossing the finish line, saved ground to the stretch and failed to make an impact. ENDLESSLY tracked in the two path then moved inside, steered two then three wide for the clubhouse turn, bid three deep on the final bend, could not keep up with the top pair and chased off the rail to the stretch and faded in the lane.
