Footnotes
JAGUAR JON raced up close four deep to the turn, chased in the four path outside a pair of rivals around the bend, challenged the leader from outside at the eighth pole, dueled into deep stretch and proved best late. MR. MACHUPICCHU stepped to the front and set the pace under pressure from outer rivals, moved clear with three furlongs remaining, met the bid from JAGUAR JON at the eighth pole, resisted into the final sixteenth and yielded grudgingly in the end. COACH CRONIN bumped with outer rival early, chased from off the pace on the inside, angled five wide around the bend, drifted inward in the lane and got up for third. DISTANT FLEET stalked the speed up the backstretch, fell out of range while saving ground on the turn, cut the corner into the lane and got edged for third. ARABIAN FLIRT broke a step slow and trailed early, went two wide into the turn, angled six wide around the bend, moved into the five path turning for home and summoned a mild rally. CURRY raced off the pace outside rivals up the backstretch, took the turn four to five wide, got floated in by COACH CRONIN midstretch and weakened. KITTEN IN CHARGE chased outside a rival then between foes out of range, took the turn two to three wide and alos weakened in the drive. WILD RECRUIT pressed between rivals to the turn, could not keep up and chased after the leader from the two path around the bend and faded in the lane. TIGER STRENGTH bumped with inner rival early, chased two wide leaving the backstretch, angled to the rail quickly on the turn and failed to menace. GENERAL JACKSON attended the pace three deep between rivals, chased in the three path still between runners around the bend, sustained an injury inside the sixteenth pole and unseated the rider just before the wire, then was transported off the track via equine ambulance.
