Footnotes
FUMANO'S MAGIC broke a step slow, hustled to a forward position, had to wait for room behind the leader for a bit on the turn, roused at the five-sixteenths pole, tipped out and bumped a rival, drew alongside the frontrunner entering the lane, cleared past the eighth pole under right-handed urging. WHAT A GIFT bumped leaving the gate then lacked early speed, raced wide into the turn, angled out further and traveled seven wide into the lane, closed well and nailed STANFORD DROPOUT for second. STANFORD DROPOUT brushed with outer rival early, vied inside a pair of rivals up the backstretch, inched ahead into the turn, cleared with a quarter mile remaining, came under threat from FUMANO'S MAGIC at the three-sixteenths pole, lost command in upper stretch, weakened in the furlong grounds and got nailed for second. HE'S GOT FIRE showed early speed then stalked off the rail, got put in tight briefly outside the quarter pole, tipped to the four path, drifted inward in upper stretch and flattened out. CHASE N RYAN fought three deep for command to the five-sixteenths pole, could not go on with the leader with a quarter mile left to run, chased three wide into the lane and faded. SMOKEM AND LOVE broke well then dropped off the pace, moved to the inside, angled three wide around the bend, steered back inward in upper stretch and was never a factor. BLAZING HEAT broke out and bumped, chased from off the rail under coaxing, lost ground on the inside around the bend, then passed tired rivals in the stretch. CIELITOS WISH got bumped and crowded in the early going, moved into range outside, came six wide into the stretch and had little left for the stretch run. JIMMY DELIVERS got bumped on both sides early, went up to challenge between rivals for command, lost touch with the leader at the five-sixteenths pole, got bumped by the winner and bobbled shortly after and tired down the lane.
