THE PADRE (IRE) tracked the top pair from the two path outside a rival, remained two wide through the far turn, tipped out into the lane, challenged three deep into the final furlong, dueled with FREEDOM'S NOT FREE into deep stretch and drove clear. FREEDOM'S NOT FREE stepped to the front and set the tone along the inside, showed the way under pressure from GEOMETRY up the backstretch, maintained a short lead through the far turn under some coaxing, came under a ride entering the lane, put away GEOMETRY past the eighth pole while coming under threat from THE PADRE (IRE), fought on even terms into the last sixteenth, then yielded to the winner and was able to hold second. GAME WARRIOR stalked the speed next to the fence, saved ground following FREEDOM'S NOT FREE through the far turn, moved out a bit in the lane, finished willingly between foes late and missed second. GEOMETRY flanked the leader from outside in the early going, applied more pressure in the middle stages, hounded FREEDOM'S NOT FREE to the eighth pole but failed to kick on with the top trio in the late stages. MYTHICAL REEL (IRE) settled at the back of the pack, remained inside to the far turn, came under a ride around the bend, tipped two wide into the lane and weakened.
