MAKUTU controlled the pace along the inside, met the bid from POOR CONNECTION early on the far turn, maintained a short lead into the final furlong and dug in to prevail. POOR CONNECTION broke out, stalked in the two path, challenged from outside around the far turn, hounded the winner through the lane and could not summon the needed late kick to get by. SWEET ODYSSEY pulled along the inside while in range early, stayed on the fence to the stretch, kept on willingly down the lane and finished a game third. BOTH SIDES OF BAD sat off the pace two wide then found the rail, saved ground on the far turn, angled out under left-handed urging and showed late effort to round out the superfecta. GOING VIRAL stalked next to the fence, tipped two wide with a quarter mile remaining, moved out further in the lane and chased evenly to the line. EMPIRE'S CLASSIC angled to the inside, pulled on the first turn, tug in hand on the backstretch, chased three wide around the far turn, kept trying in the final furlong but lacked a bid while steadying late. DJOSER raced outside a rival towards the rear, chased three deep at the quarter pole and lacked a rally when called upon. SWEET KNOWLEDGE was off a bit slow, pulled briefly prior to the first turn, saved ground towards the rear, hugged the rail to the stretch and could not make an impact. BROTHER BROTHER tracked outside a rival, started to weaken between rivals on the far turn and had little left for the stretch run. PIO NONO broke a step slow and lost his path at the start, trailed in the early going, went outside a rival on the backstretch, remained two wide to the stretch and never got involved.
