DAYTONA DIAMOND stumbled badly leaving the gate, coaxed along with one rival beat up the backstretch, entered the turn in the three path, angled down to the rail then steered back out and came five wide into the stretch, rallied five deep into the final furlong, seized control midstretch and maintained a short lead over TASHIE to the wire. TASHIE tracked along the rail, moved over to the two path on the turn, steered out into the stretch, challenged four deep at the eighth pole, fought inside DAYTONA DIAMOND in the last sixteenth but had to settle for second best today. STAY BOSSY pursued from off the pace up the backstretch, traveled in the two path on the turn then moved into range along the rail late on the bend, tipped out and bid between runners with a furlong remaining but flattened out in the late stages. YOU TRUST ME stumbled leaving the gate, trailed up the backstretch, angled to the inside for the turn, eased over to the two path around the bend, drifted back inside in upper stretch, steered out midstretch and produced a mild rally to round out the superfecta. BREAKAWAY BABE raced up close to the outside of the pacesetter, applied pressure to that rival with three furlongs remaining, put a head in front nearing the eighth pole, was overtaken and lugged in midstretch, then weakened in the final sixteenth. STRIDENT MISS bumped with SENTIENT SOON shortly after the start, showed early foot then followed in range from off the rail, traveled two, three, then four wide on the turn and weakened down the lane. SENTIENT SOON bumped with STRIDENT MISS early, went up to take control, took pressure from BREAKAWAY BABE at the three-eighths pole, carried a short lead over that rival to upper stretch, relinquished the lead entering the furlong grounds and folded. OBHAYVE raced off the pace outside a rival early on, dropped back to last three then four wide on the turn and tired in the stretch run.
