Footnotes
STARK CONTRAST settled in the two path, drew closer two then three wide on the far turn, moved into range with a furlong remaining, reeled in MEDICI in deep stretch and drove clear near the wire. MEDICI sprinted to the front and crossed over to the inside, showed the way up the backstretch, challenged from outside early on the far turn, turned that runner away outside the quarter pole, led clear into the final sixteenth and got run down by the winner. HONEY'S CHOICE sat off the pace on the inside, tipped two wide at the five-sixteenths pole, steered out at the top of the stretch, summoned a mild rally and gained third. HERE'S SOME MORE raced outside a rival toward the rear, chased two then three wide on the far turn, tipped out further in the lane and got outkicked for third. KEAGMAN (IRE) broke a bit slow and lost his path at the start, raced on the inside near the back, tipped two wide past past the quarter pole and passed tired rivals. ST PETERSBURG broke out and brushed, pulled early on the first turn and had to steady off heels, settled into a stalking position on the inside, ridden along past the quarter pole and weakened in the lane. FORTY SEVEN was forwardly placed three then two wide, was closest in pursuit in the middle stages, challenged from outside on the far turn but got turned away approaching the quarter pole, chased in the two path coming into the stretch and weakened. WHYNOTANOTHERONE broke in and quickly corrected, tracked from inside, raced in mid-pack up the backstretch, got put in tight on the fence and checked at the quarter pole, moved off the rail in the lane and had little left for the stretch run. STILL BULLETPROOF raced up close between then stalked in the two path outside a rival, found the rail late on the far turn, shifted in and almost hit the rail midstretch, then weakened in the late stages. CORNEALEUSTHEGREAT trailed two wide around the first turn, lagged behind on the inside around the second bend and was always outrun.
