DESERT GATE took a stalking position along the rail, followed behind MO KOKO up the backstretch, challenged from inside past the five-sixteenths pole, put a head in front with a quarter mile remaining, kicked clear in upper stretch and drew away under right handed encouragement and steady handling. MO KOKO stepped to the front in the two path then found the rail around the first turn, controlled the pace up the backstretch, led a bit off the rail into the far turn, challenged by DESERT GATE midway around the bend, relinquished the lead at the quarter pole, was no match for the winner in upper stretch and stayed on to secure second. START THE RIDE settled inside, moved into range on the backstretch, came under a ride on the far turn, cut the corner into the lane, moved out in upper stretch and churned on for a clear third. ESSOS sat off the pace outside a rival, drew closer in the middle stages, lost ground on the far turn still in the two path and failed to rally. DECISIVE WIN raced up close along the inside into the first turn then quickly shifted to the two path, stalked the lone leader to the far turn, asked two then three wide around the bend and tired in the stretch. OCEAN BEAR tracked two wide approaching the clubhouse turn then three deep around the bend, continued outside a pair of rivals to the far turn, came four wide into the stretch and had little left for the drive. ONE MORE FREUD broke a step slow, trailed on the inside then angled to the three path on the first turn, trailed two to three wide into the second bend, remained off the rail to the stretch and was never a factor.
