OCEAN BEAR got bumped back at the start, moved into range up the backstretch, waited behind the top trio in the two path on the turn, tipped three wide entering the lane, drew alongside SOUTHERN MELODEE with a sixteenth remaining and bested that rival in the end. SOUTHERN MELODEE dueled outside TOMMY NORRIS up the backstretch and around the turn, put a head in front in upper stretch, disposed of TOMMY NORRIS approaching the sixteenth pole but now came under threat from OCEAN BEAR, finished gamely to the wire but could not hold off that rival in the end. TOMMY NORRIS dueled from inside, fought with a pair of rivals on the turn, carried a narrow lead into the drive, lost command in upper stretch and yielded to the top pair in deep stretch. TAMARANDO BEACH pursued in range from inside, lost ground under asking on the turn and weakened down the stretch. NEED MO DIAMONDS broke in and bumped the winner, raced up close outside the top pair, bid three deep on the turn, drifted out a path while losing touch with the leaders into the lane and flattened out. BILLIE HOLIDAY hesitated and came away slow, look to move closer but lacked room behind a rival early, trailed on the inside into the turn, angled out and passed a rival with a quarter mile remaining and picked off tired rivals down the stretch. FACTOR P brushed the gate, got squeezed between rivals early, raced outside a rival off the pace, took the turn two to three wide and lacked a response when called upon. BIG VENGEANCE chased widest up the backstretch, navigated the turn four then five wide and faded. MOJO MO climbed in the early going, chased on the inside off the pace into the turn, fell back to last around the bend, went two wide into the lane and came up empty.
