FLASHY FRITZ broke out and bumped, quickly took control and moved inside, pressured by CLOSING TIME on the backstretch, maintained a short lead around the far turn, dueled into the lane, battled head to head down the stretch and stubbornly held. CLOSING TIME raced up close in the two path, applied pressure to FLASH FRITZ in the middle stages, hounded that rival around the far turn, moved up on even terms entering the lane, battled down the stretch and could not get by the winner. PICK IT UP coaxed from the gate, followed from the rail or two wide on the clubhouse turn, saved ground through the far turn, could not summon the needed rally but was able to hold on for the show honors. TRAIL BLAZE was forwardly placed three deep on the clubhouse turn, stayed off the rail then chased outside a rival on the far turn, failed to respond when called upon and got outkicked for third. ONE HAPPY DUDE chased three then four wide early, dropped off the pace on the backstretch, rounded the far turn two then three wide and could not rally. MR. TARIFF got bumped from inside at the start, went four deep into the first turn then cut to the inside around the bend, raced well off the pace into the far turn, saved ground to the stretch and failed to menace. LEE'S BABY BOY traveled six deep into the first turn, tucked inside at the back of the pack, remained inside into the far turn, angled out late on the bend and was never factor. UNION SECRETS chased five wide into the first turn then dropped back, rounded the far turn three then four wide, drifted into the lane and came up empty. KILMER threw his head and lost rider the rider at the start, ran around with the field and managed to avoid trouble, then walked off following the race. THERE WAS AN INQUIRY INVOLVING THE START OF KILMER. FOLLOWING THE REVIEW, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT KILMER CAUSED HIS OWN PROBLEMS AT THE START AND IS CONSIDERED A STARTER.
