STERLING SEA sat off the pace in the two path, drew closer and angled in on the backstretch, followed behind the leaders while switching back to the two path on the far turn, bid inside at the top of the lane and bested FORZA AZZURRI in the late stages for the victory. FORZA AZZURRI vied three deep into the first turn then took a stalking position, moved up to apply pressure to the leader past the five-eighths pole, vied between early on the far turn and put a head in front, dueled inside a rival while staying off the rail late on the bend, resisted into the final furlong and was outgamed by STERLING SEA in the final sixteenth. BIG REFLECTIONS raced up close in the four path, followed the leaders from outside up the backstretch, challenged into the far turn, dueled outside FORZA AZZURRI with a quarter mile remaining, battled into the final furlong and could not summon the needed late kick. MY MAN JOE ROLDAN settled int he two path, went three wide into the far turn, angled out and took aim five wide leaving the bend, chased within striking distance to the sixteenth pole but flattened late. HURRICANE WAY sat off the pace outside a pair of rivals, kept away from the rail up the backstretch, spun five wide into the lane and lacked a rally. SUNK COST FALLACY dropped off the pace in the two path then found the rail, went two wide into the far turn, angled back to the rail saving ground and failed to menace. MONSIEUR BIG vied with outer trio into the first turn then cleared around the bend, took pressure past the five-eighths pole, carried a short lead over outer pair into the far turn, lost command approaching the five-sixteenths pole, yielded with a quarter mile left to run and weakened. JOEY TEN trailed on the inside, exited the backstretch three deep, chased two wide into the drive with a lot of work left to do and failed to menace. TWILIGHT TIME chased from inside around the first turn, lost ground up the backstretch, trailed around the far turn, passed a tired rival at the top of the lane and failed to threaten. MR. TARIFF was antsy in the gate, showed early speed between rivals then took a stalking position in the two path, started to lose ground under a ride in the middle stages, dropped back around the far turn and had little left for the stretch run.
