Footnotes
NEVADA BEACH stalked three wide around the first turn, followed closely outside the top pair in the middle stages, challenged three deep late on the far turn, dueled outside BRITISH ISLES in the final furlong and bested the runner-up in the last sixteenth. BRITISH ISLES prompted the pace from outside, moved up on even terms on the backstretch, took over with a quarter mile remaining, led between rivals in the three path turning for home, battled inside NEVADA BEACH in the furlong grounds and yielded grudgingly. WESTWOOD stepped to the front and showed the way early with BRITISH ISLES alongside, headed by that rival on the backstretch, lost command dueling around the far turn, fought in the two path coming into the lane, failed to kick on with the top pair with a furlong remaining and kept on for a clear third. INDISPENSABLE took a stalking position next to the fence, lost ground and angled four wide around the far turn, then weakened in the stretch.
