Footnotes
CRAZY CAVALIER sat in mid-pack outside a rival early, gained three deep on the far turn, loomed two wide turning for home, drew alongside BURNING RUBBER into deep stretch and drove past the runner-up. BURNING RUBBER set all the pace from inside to the stretch, led clear into the final furlong while feeling CRAZY CAVALIER bearing down, collared by that rival at the sixteenth pole and could not off the winner. PRINCE DOLCE laid off the pace outside a rival, made progress, two then three wide on the far turn, finished willingly down the lane and outfinished TIME SONG for the show honors. TIME SONG raced in mid-pack along the inside, had to check behind rivals at the quarter pole, split foes with a furlong remaining and got outkicked for third. NIGHT OUT reserved in the early going and moved to the inside, paused at the five-sixteenths pole, checked and altered out a bit the quarter pole, angled out further in the lane and could not threaten. CALL ME SIR pulled badly in the early going when reserved, continued to fight the rider a bit on the backstretch, was a bit rank still on the far turn, moved out in the lane and showed some late interest. POOR CONNECTION tracked the speed along the rail inside a rival, bumped with COMININALITTLEHOT at the quarter pole, tipped out in upper stretch and failed to respond. COMININALITTLEHOT tracked the leader outside POOR CONNECTION, bumped with that rival and steadied at the quarter pole, then weakened in the drive. EMPIRE'S CLASSIC broke a step slow, moved to the inside trailing the field, went outside a rival into the far turn, angled four wide around that bend and could not be a factor down the lane. PRINCE OF DEL MAR was closest pursuit in the two path then found the rail on the far turn, tired down the lane, bled following the race and was transported off the track via equine ambulance.
