CYPRUS MOON fought for the lead inside a pair of rivals, took over with three furlongs remaining, drew clear outside the quarter pole, continued clear into deep stretch and was able to hold off the late run from SHANGRILAMA (IRE) at the wire. SHANGRILAMA (IRE) stalked the top trio along the rail, coaxed along through the turn, cut the corner into the stretch, moved into second midstretch, reeled in the winner late only to miss. NEEDLEPOINT (IRE) sat off the pace on the inside, chased between rivals at the quarter pole, got floated out with a furlong remaining and rallied for third. WILLOW COVE tracked from inside, lost ground on the turn, remained next to the rail to the stretch and kept trying to round out the superfecta. CHEEKY GAL led between rivals to the turn, lost the lead at the three-eighths pole, failed to keep up with the new leader approaching the quarter pole, chased two wide into the drive and weakened in the furlong grounds. A REAL JEWEL hopped slightly at the start but still came away with the field, stalked outside a rival into the turn, had to pause when boxed in at the quarter pole, moved out at the eighth pole and failed to rally. READY JET GO broke well then quickly dropped back to last, angled to the inside, tipped three wide for the stretch, angled out further then altered out midstretch and could not threaten. KATERINI got crowded and came away slow in the beginning, raced outside a rival off the pace, chased three deep at the quarter pole, got floated out at the eighth pole and failed to rally. ELTONSINGSANOTHER vied three deep to the three-eighths pole, could not keep pace with the leader at the five-sixteenths pole and weakened in the drive.
