EVA LEA press from inside then chased after the leader leaving the backstretch, moved into the two path around the bend, quickly took over in upper stretch, put VELVET LILLY away at the eighth pole and held safely while kept busy to the wire. COUNTERBALANCE chased from off the rail, rounded the bend in the three path, finished determinedly within striking distance of EVA LEA in the furlong grounds but had to settle for second best. MISS DONNA was reluctant loading into the gate, chased from inside, ridden along through the turn, moved out in upper stretch, could not summon the needed late kick but managed to hold the show. ESSENTIAL LADY bumped with inner rival leaving the gate, got bumped and put in tight quarters briefly early, had to pause behind MISS DONNA with a quarter mile remaining, tipped out into the lane and could not get by MISS DONNA for third. VELVET DREAM bumped with outer rival at the start, raced three deep off the pace early, angled in on the turn, chased two wide leaving the bend, angled in entering the bend and could not threaten. VELVET LILLY showed the way outside EVA LEA early, cleared at the seven-sixteenths pole and crossed to the inside, remained clear around the bend, yielded to the winner in upper stretch and weakened in the furlong grounds. DANICA P was off slow to begin, traveled off the pace between rivals, took the turn two then three wide, steered out in the lane and failed to rally. RADIANT VIEW bumped with VELVET DREAM in the beginning, settled four deep in the opening stages, angled down to the two path on the turn, spun three wide into the lane, angled out and proved no menace. MEMETIC bumped with ESSENTIAL LADY leaving the gate, bumped with that rival again and took up early, lagged behind on the inside to the stretch and was never a factor.
