Footnotes
TRULY QUALITY raced towards the rear in the two path, exited the clubhouse turn in the three path, drew closer outside rivals, came under a ride with three furlongs remaining, bid outside the top pair at the quarter pole, put a head in front at the eighth pole and kicked clear in the last sixteenth. FLASHIEST laid off the pace on the inside, raced between rivals into the backstretch, lacked room and checked early on the final turn, bumped with outer rival at the five-sixteenths pole, tipped three wide approaching the stretch, angled out further in the lane, then finished well to get up for second. NINEELEVENTURBO settled in the two path in the opening stages, crept closer approaching the clubhouse turn, followed between runners leaving the backstretch, shifted to the three path at the quarter pole, lacked room behind rivals in upper stretch, went between runners at the sixteenth pole and got outkicked for second. REIQUIST was closest in the two path early, moved up to challenge from outside on the backstretch, lost touch briefly with the leader into the far turn, re-bid and took over pat the quarter pole, resisted between rivals into the final furlong, yielded to TRULY QUALITY at the sixteenth pole and got outfinished for the place and show. RASTAMAN VIBE stalked the pacesetter from inside, followed behind the top pair on the far turn while easing over to the two path, launched a bid in upper stretch but flattened out in the late stages. GROGU angled to the inside racing in the second flight, continued along the fence second time up the backstretch, got put in tight, hit the rail and checked past the three-eighths pole, shifted out a bit into the clear at the top of the stretch and failed to rally. MONDEGO (GB) raced three wide at the back around the first turn, rounded the clubhouse turn two then three wide, asked four then five wide on the last turn and had little left for the stretch run. BALNIKHOV (IRE) was taken back and steered to the inside, exited the clubhouse turn in the two path, traveled three deep leaving the backstretch, had to pause in traffic past the three-eighths pole, bumped with FLASHIEST at the five-sixteenths marker, tipped out and came four wide into the lane and could not rally. BALLADEER coaxed from the gate and took control on the inside, opened up a comfortable lead in hand early, took pressure on the backstretch, moved clear approaching the final turn, came under threat again from REIQUIST around the bend, relinquished the lead past the quarter pole and faded in the drive. THERE WAS AN INQUIRY REGARDING THE INCIDENT BETWEEN REIQUIST AND GROGU EARLY ON THE FINAL TURN. FOLLOWING A REVIEW THE STEWARDS RULED, IN A MAJORITY DECISION, THAT GROGU WENT INTO A TIGHT SPOT PAST THE THREE-EIGHTHS POLE AND THE INCIDENT DID NOT WARRANT A DISQUALIFICATION.
