Footnotes
PLUTARCH reserved in the two path, crept closer up the backstretch, closed in while angling four wide on the far turn, stormed to the front with a furlong remaining and won going away. RIO GRANDE broke a step slow, traveled two wide at the back of the pack, went three deep into the far turn, gained around the far turn, finished well in the lane and nose out HONEY'S CHOICE for second. HONEY'S CHOICE tracked from inside, drew closer in the middle stages, followed behind the leader to the stretch, tipped out at the eighth pole and got outkicked for second. MEDICI sat off the pace in the two path, bid three deep at the seven-sixteenths pole, lost contact with the leader but remained close three wide around the far turn, re-bid two wide entering the stretch, fought between briefly in upper stretch, was no match for PLUTARCH past the eighth pole and flattened to fourth. ARMY MAN took the lead outside rivals in the chute then cleared and crossed over to the inside first time in the stretch, challenged by outer rival at the seven-sixteenths pole, inched away on the far turn, confronted again by MEDICI into the stretch, relinquished the lead to PLUTARCH at the eighth pole and weakened in the late stages. OUT OF THE WOODS traveled in mid-pack along the rail, came under a ride on the far turn, cut the corner into the stretch and never responded. KEAGMAN (IRE) raced well off the pace and moved to the inside, chased two wide at the quarter pole, altered out in upper stretch and could not rally. BIGGIEBIGGIEBIGGIE tracked from the two path, moved closer up the backstretch, tipped three wide at the quarter pole and weakened in the drive. GRINDERS SWITCH reserved on the inside at the back in the opening stages, coaxed along into the far turn, went two then three wide around the far turn, chased three deep into the lane and was never a factor. RAGING INFERNO got bumped and steadied entering the lane for the first turn, traveled on the inside towards the back, went between runners at the quarter pole and could not make an impact. WORK was closest in pursuit from inside then moved into the two path on the clubhouse turn, challenged for command at the seven-sixteenths pole, got turned away with a quarter mile remaining, entered the lane in the two path and tired. TANMANTOO got bumped and crowded between rivals entering the stretch first time around, laid well off the pace in the two path, fell back further on the far turn and moved inside, then had little left for the stretch run.
