Footnotes
PHANTOM FIRE set a clear pace early on, widened her margin into and around the turn, opened up an insurmountable advantage reaching the lane then tired in the final furlong yet remained well clear. SOUTHERN WAY broke slowly, lacked speed in the two path, split foes in the three path entering upper stretch then stayed on to share place with an inner bidder at the wire. BRIDE lacked speed in the five to four path into the turn, tucked to the inside at the quarter pole, paused briefly before slipping inside of a rival entering the lane, then stayed on to move up and dead-heat for place at the wire. SLIGHTED was bumped by an inner foe at the start, raced off of the pace in the four to three path, swung five wide into the lane and improved position. VALENTINE EVE broke forwardly but was outsprinted by an inner pair early on, chased them from the three path into the turn, reclaimed place entering the lane then tired. ISABELLA GLEAM hustled forward after a bit of a flat-footed beginning, stalked the clear leader from the two path into the turn, proved no match for that one turning for home and weakened. GOING SHOPPING bumped an outer rival at the start, tracked from the four path but faded between horses entering the lane. FIRST GLANCE chased from midpack along the inside then tired turning for home. GRACE MARIE broke slowly, trailed in the three path and got outrun.
