FUEL prompted three to two wide approaching the turn, sparred with an inner rival turning for home and edged clear in the final furlong. ZAMBONI led two wide and between horses early on, vied with only his outer counterpart around the turn, dueled with that one turning for home, but hung on his left lead through the lane and was bested. FUZZBUSTER brushed with an outer rival at the start, brushed with that one again at the eleven sixteenths pole, pursued off of the pace in the four path, moved out to the six path while advancing into upper stretch and stayed on willingly. INCREDIBOLT lacked speed in the five path, then stayed on one-paced. BARSTOOL came out at the start, pursued from midpack in the two to three path, closer in the four path turning for home, edged show while no match for the top pair at the furlong grounds but tired. OUTLAW EMPIRE broke a step slow, chased forwardly in the three path and between horses into the turn, but yielded in the two path turning for home. EMANCIPATION tracked from the four path, chased the top pair from the three path turning for home then faded between horses. HOT DANG broke slowly, lacked speed along the inside, brushed an outer rival while moving out to the three path to avoid a faltering foe at the five sixteenths pole then failed to menace. PATROL SQUAD SIX came under urging off of the pace with five furlongs to go, lacked a response and raced well back two wide and between horses into the turn, got brushed to the four path by an inner rival at the five sixteenths pole and failed to factor. THIRD PICK brushed with an inner rival at the start, brushed with that one again at the eleven sixteenths pole, raced keenly among foes thereafter, dropped back three wide into the turn and got outrun. WAR SPIRIT prompted along the inside, failed to sustain pressure with nine sixteenths to go and steadily weakened. SPIRIT OF ROYAL stumbled at the start and dislodged his rider. A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE START RESULTED IN NO CHANGE TO THE ORIGINAL ORDER OF FINISH.
