BOITANO saved ground in the first turn to be rated along the inside, steadily advanced going up the backstretch to shadow the pace in the far turn, launched a three wide bid at the eighth to drive past the leader for the victory. MISTER MULDOON was bumped between foes at the start, claimed a ground-saving lead before the first turn, continued on to set an uncontested pace under a tight rein, came under pressure in the upper stretch until grudgingly giving way in the final sixteenth. EVEN THE WIND opted to be the early trailer, began to make progress along the inside of the far turn, continued to rally from the inside of the stretch to be up for the show award. TWOKO BAY settled off the pace, had no room in the upper stretch until a small gap opened up in the final furlong to show a late rally. RED ROAD was checked shortly after the start, tracked the early pace three wide, closed some ground in the far turn, weakened in the stretch. FORTUITY raced off the pace, took towards the outside of the stretch but failed to improve. PROWLING TIGER found position around the middle of the pack, tipped out four wide in the stretch, pinched back at the sixteenth. BRIT'S WIT tracked the pace four wide, retreated in the far turn, trailed at the three sixteenth.
