SPECIAL AWAKENING was squeezed back at the start, raced off the pace, began closing in along the inside of the far turn and upper stretch, tipped out four wide approaching the eighth, continued to rally in the final furlong and got up just in time. MULA chased the early pace along the inside, split foes a the quarter to take charge by the three sixteenths, drifted out a couple paths under left handed urging inside the eighth, switched to right handed urging for the final sixteenth but got nailed by driving foe. FLASH OF CHAOS was pinched back at the start, trailed after the first turn, cued five wide in the far turn, continued to rally well along the outside of the stretch but was held at bay by the top two. STRAITSHOOTINLARRY tracked the early pace three wide, drifted out in the upper stretch and narrowly avoided contact with FLASH OF CHAOS at the eighth, repositioned along the inside of the final sixteenth, flattened out. CHASING GRAY quickly set an uncontested pace under a tight rein, continued on until being asked by the rider at the quarter but had nothing left to give in the stretch. ATHLETIC LIKE false broke in the gate just before the official start, held onto by the assistant starter momentarily before hopping and being allowed to join the pack, trailed through the first turn, moved up off the pace three wide, came up empty on the second turn and dropped out. GOLD DOLLAR found position in the middle of the pack, started a slow retreat in the far turn to trail by the sixteenth. STEWARDS INQUIRY REGARDING THE START FOCUSING ON ATHLETIC LIKE RESULTED IN ATHLETIC LIKE BEING DECLARED A STARTER AND NO CHANGE WAS MADE.
