Footnotes
BONAFIDE tracked the early pace three wide, moved up through the turn to take charge at the quarter and splashed clear. LEMON SOHN found early position around the middle of the pack, steadily advanced up the backstretch, launched a five wide bid at the top of the stretch but was held at bay by the winner. GOLD GUNNER was rated along the inside, swung out eight wide entering the stretch, got up for the show award. CLIFFS OF DOVER broke slowly, raced considerably off the pace, made improvements along the far outside of the stretch. ROYAL IRISH chased the early pace, closed some ground in the far turn, flattened out in the stretch. TOO COLD AT HOME raced far off the pace, failed to respond to rider's urging, passed tiring rivals in the stretch. STRUCK OUT broke slowly and was never a factor. FEDERAL AGENT claimed a ground saving lead before the first turn, continued up the backstretch uncontested, came under pressure in the far turn until giving way at the quarter and retreated. CAJUN SWAGGER trailed for most, passed retreating foe in the stretch. DON PABLO was off a step slow, tracked the pace four wide, came up empty on the second turn and dropped out, was eased to the wire but walked off.
