SHEPHERD set a pressured pace from the inside, continued on until being challenged to duel by MATINEE IDOL at the quarter, edged clear in the final sixteenth. MATINEE IDOL stalked the pace four wide, closed in through the far turn to enter the stretch in a duel with SHEPHERD, gave way in the final sixteenth for a gamely finish. D DAY SKY trailed through the first turn, steadily advanced along the inside to track the pace, swung out four wide at the top of the stretch but could not rally. SAND CAST raced off the pace between rivals, trailed up the backstretch, passed tiring rival along the inside of the far turn, picked off one more rival along the outside of the stretch. AIN'T NO DISCO raced off the pace three wide, retreated down the stretch, never threatened. TRAITOUR pressed the pace between foes, faded through the far turn to trail by the five sixteenths, continued down the stretch under no pressure from the rider. SMART MO refused to start, did not run. STEWARDS INQUIRY REGARDING THE START RESULTED IN NO CHANGE.
