STRUCK AT MIDNIGHT was rated along the inside, slowly advanced up the backstretch to shadow the pace through the far turn, launched a four wide bid at the top of the stretch, surged late under right handed urging to be up in time. CHAT ROOM was unhurried at the start to be the early trailer, steadily advanced four wide up the backstretch to stalk the pace going into the far turn, dueled with COACH MAZZULA in the upper stretch, claimed a narrow lead at the eighth but got nailed by the winner. COACH MAZZULA quickly claimed a ground saving lead, continued on until coming under pressure in the far turn, dueled with CHAT ROOM in the upper stretch, grudgingly gave way in the final furlong. FAYE'S GOLD led briefly before the first turn, tracked the pace between foes, tipped out six wide in the stretch but was unable to make any improvements. ZAFFA trailed after the first turn, passed tiring foe in the stretch. RAIN GOLD raced off the pace, never threatened.
