LUCKY N LAWLESS settled off the pace through the first turn, rated three wide up the backstretch before advancing through the far turn, pressed the pace in the upper stretch until taking charge at the eighth, switched back to inside lead at the sixteenth to hold firm. MORAL MAN chased the early pace, closed in through the far turn to take command at the quarter, gave way to LUCKY N LAWLESS at the eighth while switching back to the left lead, held for the place award. MATCHING FUNDS broke inward at the start, steadied going into the first turn, raced off the pace going up the backstretch under a tight rein, gained position in the far turn before taking to the four path in the stretch, claimed third in the final furlong but could not make any more imrpovements. SKIP FORWARD (JPN) trailed after the first turn, brushed with BROCKTON in the upper stretch before making some minor improvements late. BROCKTON broke alertly before opting to be rated along the inside, backed off the pace through the far turn, brushed with SKIP FORWARD (JPN) in the upper stretch, passed retreating rival. OUTLAW EMPIRE took charge before the first turn, continued up the backstretch until coming under pressure in the far turn and giving way at the quarter, retreated down the stretch.
