FABER was rated three wide, closed in through the far turn before launching a five wide bid at the top of the stretch, closed in under left handed encouragement, switched sticks at the sixteenth and responded well to be up in time. DRILLING FOR GOLD tracked the pace through the first turn, moved up to press the pace up the backstretch and far turn, took charge just after the quarter, opened up a couple lengths under left handed urging but got nailed by surging rival. CONTRIBUTION settled back off the pace, trailed briefly approaching the far turn, bumped out by LUCKY MISCHIEF just after the quarter, began closing along the outside before brushing with LUCKY MISCHIEF once more at the eighth, rallied well for the show award. UNLEASH THE POWER was rated along the inside, cued six wide in the far turn, showed a mild rally in the stretch but was out-finished for the minor awards. LUCKY MISCHIEF settled off the pace, angled out seven wide at the top of the stretch bumping into CONTRIBUTION, gained a few positions before brushing CONTRIBUTION once more at the eighth, improved. MARY'S BOY BOLT vied for the early lead with GOLDBRICK until giving way before the first turn, continued along chasing the pace, flattened out in the final sixteenth. E LION found position around the middle of the pack, closed some ground between foes in the upper stretch but flattened out in the final furlong. GOLDBRICK vied for the early lead with MARY'S BOY BOLT, took charge just before the first turn, continued up the backstretch and far turn under pressure from DRILLING FOR GOLD, gave way just after the quarter and weakened then on. TO THE CHIEF raced not too far behind the early pace, closed some ground in the upper stretch, retreated in the final furlong. HARD SPUN TO RUN bobbled at the start, trailed for the first half, trailed again at the three eighths, continued on under little encouragement.
