NINE PART hopped slightly at the start, raced off the pace in the early stages, gained along the inside of the turn and upper stretch, shifted out four wide at the eighth, brushed slightly with SASSI D but was still able to drive past the leader. MONSIEUR CANDY was rowdy in the post parade, tracked the early pace, advanced three wide through the turn to take charge in the upper stretch, grudgingly gave way to the winner at the sixteenth. SASSI D found early position around the middle of the pack, began closing in rounding the turn, ducked out slightly at the top of the stretch to avoid TDZ HINT OF POWER, brushed with NINE PART at the eighth, got up for the show award. GEAUX SUGAR broke sharply to set a pressured pace from the inside, gave way to MONSIEUR GANDY in the upper stretch, flattened out in the final furlong. CLEAR AS A BELE was slow to leave the starting gate, raced off the pace, began asking through the turn, took a slight hold at the top of the stretch to avoid SASSI D, passed tiring foe. TDZ HINT OF POWER applied pressure to the early pace, backed off a bit in the turn, ducked out slightly at the top of the stretch, faded then on. CARPIS trailed shortly after the start, outran.
