Footnotes
FOUNTAIN RUN was quick to take charge, led somewhat comfortably until entering a duel with INTERLOCK EMPIRE in the upper stretch, dug in late for the win. INTERLOCK EMPIRE tracked the early pace, closed in while traveling up the backstretch to sit right behind the leader, tipped out at the quarter to contest the pace in the upper stretch, gave way late for a gamely finish. DJANGO opted to be the early trailer, gained position along the inside before entering the stretch five wide, picked off one more foe in the stretch but was no match for the top two. GOLDDIGGENDEVIL broke a bit outward, raced off the pace, trailed by the five sixteenths, passed retreating foe in the stretch. WHITE WHALE was fractious in the gate, shadowed the early pace, lost some ground rounding the first turn to be seven wide in the backstretch, reconvened with foes to stalk the pace three wide, retreated down the stretch.
