BIG CHOPPER broke a beat slow, raced off the pace three wide, rallied through traffic in the stretch before splitting foes in the final few strides to be up just in time. PASSING JUDGMENT tracked the pace from the inside through the first turn, repositioned four wide up the backstretch, closed in through the far turn and entered the stretch in a competitive position seven wide, showed a mild rally late but came up just short. CALICOCO bobbled slightly at the start, applied heavy pressure to the early pace, launched a bid in the far turn to take charge by the quarter, held a narrow lead over foes in the stretch but got out-finished in the final few strides. SLICK AND FAST was positioned around the middle of the pack, launched a three wide bid in the stretch to split foes inside the final furlong for command, failed to sustain bid and gave way in the final few strides. SONYA KNOWS BETTER settled off the pace along the inside, had no room in the upper stretch, tipped out four wide in the stretch to make some late improvements. MAGNOLIA WEST raced off the pace, passed tiring foes in the stretch. UNIFIED REPORT quickly set a pressured pace, conceded the lead at the quarter, retreated then on. NOPENOTTONIGHT saved ground early, shadowed the pace under a tight rein, entered the stretch in a prominent position along the inside but came up empty. COFFEE COUNTY was off a step slow, trailed throughout, no factor.
