DON'T COME LOOKING got pinballed at the start and was allowed to settle early, trailed to the turn, advanced two to three wide to upper stretch, responded well into the drive and bid between rivals into the final furlong, vied for the lead in the final sixteenth, took command in deep stretch and held well late to prevail. LADY LIBERTY rated off of the early pace, tracked two wide and between runners into the turn, angled three to four wide to upper stretch, was green and drifted in then out while vying for the lead into the stretch, corrected into the final sixteenth, was bested in deep stretch and just held for second. TWIRLING CLAIRE contested the early pace from the inside then was caught in tight and took back into the turn, angled four to five wide to upper stretch and rallied into the final furlong, was crowded past mid-stretch by LADY LIBERTY, fought on to the final sixteenth and just missed for the win and place, while well clear for the show. CHARDAN contested the early pace from between rivals, dueled from the inside into the turn then met oncoming bids to upper stretch, was overtaken past the furlong pole and faded late. MO COMPLEX took back to track the early pace two to three wide nearing the turn, coaxed four to five wide to upper stretch, was outkicked to the furlong marker and did not mount a late rally. CLASSY BEACH raced close up to the early pace while four deep, disputed the pace from the outside into the turn then vied between rivals into upper stretch, weakened into the final furlong and lacked a late response. I'LL STOP TALKING had a shoe repair prior to the race, broke a step slowly but recovered to track the early pace from the outside, lost position while four to five wide into the turn then did not threaten in the stretch. NOBLE WINE showed early speed and pressed the pace from the inside approaching the turn, got caught a bit in tight into the turn and was shuffled back at the three-eighths, chased from the inside to upper stretch then gave way in the lane. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN OF THIS RACE. IN ADDITION, THE JOCKEY OF TWIRLING CLAIRE LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE JOCKEY OF LADY LIBERTY, CLAIMING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. THE STEWARDS UPHELD THAT OBJECTION AND RULED LADY LIBERTY IMPEDED TWIRLING CLAIRE, COSTING THAT RUNNER THE OPPORTUNITY OF A BETTER PLACING. LADY LIBERTY WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM SECOND, AND PLACED THIRD.
