BUILT pressed early pace two wide, met bid of MAXIMUM BOURBON nearing mid-stretch, dug in to the final sixteenth, turned away the runner-up and proved best late. MAXIMUM BOURBON hopped at the start, recovered and stalked early pace three wide, bid to upper stretch then dueled BUILT into the final sixteenth, was repelled by the winner in deep stretch and was a clear second best. AUTODRIVE rated early, well placed while four wide to the quarter, was no match for the top pair into the lane but stayed on to the final sixteenth and was a clear third. RED STATE off step slow, settled along the backstretch, saved ground to upper stretch, no late rally. OLD HOMESTEAD sent, showed speed inside while pressed along the turn, led to quarter pole, faded stretch.
