HEXCEL forwardly placed early on, stalked to half, responded into the lane, wore down the stubborn WHISKEY AND EASY into deep stretch, edged away late. WHISKEY AND EASY took early lead, set decent pace to quarter, stubbornly led into the final furlong, grudgingly gave way into deep stretch and was a clear second. UXMAL off step slow, settled inside, bid to mid-stretch, outkicked to the final sixteenth, held safely for third. BACKGROUND fractious prior to the start, tracked three wide to half, chased into upper stretch, no late kick. SMOOTHDINI off bit slow, settled two wide to half, chased inside to the furlong pole, weakened late. BEN DREAMING settled, coaxed five wide to half, continued to be wide to upper stretch, flattened out in the lane. FEATHERS ROAD off bit slow, rank early, coaxed four wide to half, angled in into upper stretch, tired. MOTOR CITY MENACE lacked speed to half, trailed inside to quarter, no factor lane. NAPOLEONIC CODE settled second flight, ridden along two wide at the half-mile, empty in the stretch.
