VAMOS CARLITOS chased the leader while travelling in the two path, began closing in through the far turn and entered the stretch applying heavy pressure to ROTHKO until finally overtaking at the sixteenth to earn the victory. ROTHKO quickly took charge along the inside, expanded a commanding lead travelling up the backstretch while under a tight rein, came under pressure from VAMOS CARLITOS after rounding the far turn, grudgingly gave way at the sixteenth, clear of the rest for the place honors. BETTER THAN GOLD settled off the pace along the inside, shifted out four wide at the top of the stretch, had a mildly erratic pathing down the stretch but was still able to get up for the show award, no match for the top two. DETTORI was rated nicely along the inside, angled out three wide at the top of the stretch but flattened out, gave up the show late. MAXIMUM PROMISE got squeezed back at the start, trailed for most, passed tiring foe in the stretch. MACKADOO settled back into the two path, trailed soon after the quarter, never threatened.
