Footnotes
DUE WE DARE settled between rivals into the backstretch, asked three wide nearing the top of the stretch, vied for the lead into the final furlong, drew clear late. PERPETUAL PATIENCE settled inside, well placed to the half-mile, mounted a rail bid at the quarter pole then vied for the lead to mid-stretch, was outkicked by the winner and held for second. SILENT BREEZE sent, set moderate pace to the backstretch, confronted while two wide into upper stretch, met bids to the furlong pole, yielded in the final sixteenth and missed for second, while clear for third. ROADSIDE BANKER forward early, stalked three wide to the half, outkicked upper stretch, weakened in the drive. TINCAN CAT settled inside, saved ground to upper stretch, shifted to the two path and bid at the furlong marker, flattened out. ASHES IN THE OCEAN squeezed start, off bit slow, trailed to the backstretch, angled widest with a furlong remaining, passed tiring rivals late. PARDONED prominent early, chased pace two wide to the half-mile, lost ground three wide nearing the quarter pole, faded in the stretch. VEGA STAR off bit slow, settled outside, raced widest to the half-mile, outrun to upper stretch and did not factor late. QUEEN'S KNIGHT settled three wide to the first turn, coaxed four wide to the half-mile point, outrun to upper stretch, empty in the drive.
