Footnotes
EMERGING MARKET allowed to settle while never far back, loomed four wide nearing the top of the stretch, confronted PAVLOVIAN at the three-sixteenths then dueled into the final furlong, crowded by PAVLOVIAN nearing the sixteenth-pole, bested the game runner-up in deep stretch and determinedly prevailed. PAVLOVIAN assumed early command, dictated terms while pressed to the half-mile, dug in at the quarter pole then met the bid of EMERGING MARKET into upper stretch, drifted out under firm left handed urging nearing the final sixteenth, dueled gamely to deep stretch and just missed for the win, while holding safely for second. GOLDEN TEMPO squeezed at the start and settled to the backstretch, weaved through foes nearing the top of the lane, angled in entering the final furlong, closed willingly in deep stretch and was well clear for third. UNIVERSE took back into the first turn, saved ground to the half-mile pole, was caught in traffic along the far turn and angled four wide to upper stretch, ran in pursuit to the furlong grounds and could not muster a final response. CHIP HONCHO was close up to the early pace while three deep, stalked the solid pace to the half-mile, vied for the lead into the far turn then was outkicked into upper stretch, could not find more into the final furlong and faded. BLACKSMITH broke in at the start and crowded inner rivals, settled to the first turn then was coaxed three to four wide nearing the half-mile, lacked the needed response nearing the quarter marker, swung four wide to upper stretch and failed to threaten in the drive. SPIRIT OF ROYAL got squeezed back at the start and was off slowly, settled to the first turn then trailed approaching the half-mile, saved ground to the quarter pole, tipped to the two path to upper stretch and advanced nearing the furlong marker, could not sustain that run past mid-stretch and weakened. EASTERLY was forwardly placed in the early going, tracked from the two path along the backstretch run, swung three wide to upper stretch, was outkicked at the quarter marker and tired in the drive. AUTOBAHN close up in the early stages, prompted the solid pace to the half-mile, lost position nearing the quarter marker, came up empty in the lane, was eased through the final furlong and walked off.
