Footnotes
YINZER pressed the pace three-wide from the outset, moved up to challenge LEGALIZE on lead approaching the quarter pole, dueled outside of that foe through the stretch while pulling clear from the rest, drifted in under right-handed urging and made contact with that rival before the finish. LEGALIZE had good speed from the break and seized the lead before the first turn, led the way down the backstretch with a couple of rivals in close pursuit, but was left to dictate the pace, quickened into the far turn, then set down with YINZER in the stretch, dueled gamely, was put in tight and bumped in the final yards. FOLIGNO took a bump at the start, then settled in the back half of the field through the early stages, then moved up late on the back stretch to join the main pack, then finished up strong to win the race for the minor award. ENLIGHTEN broke out and bumped FOLIGNO at the start, then raced in mid-pack to the far turn, swung five-wide into the stretch, and rallied to improve despite racing a bit erratically in deep stretch. BALTIMORE HEART tracked inside off the early pace, tipped out to the four-path for the stretch run, but was outfinished. ANOTHER MYSTERY was last through the early stages, then finished evenly to pass tired foes in the stretch. SABI tracked just behind the pace close up along the rail, waited behind horses through the far turn, then tipped out three wide for the stretch run but flattened out. ROCK'N A HALO settled two-wide near the rear, came five-wide into the stretch, and was unable to produce a rally. Z Z'S PRINCE settled in the middle of the pack two-wide and never threatened. NOT FALLING BACK tracked the pace four-wide to the far turn, remained prominent to the stretch, then tired. OSCAR SEASON raced with the main pack to the far turn, then was eased, allowed to gallop to the wire far behind the rest, and walked off. THE JOCKEY ON #6 LEGALIZE LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #8 YINZER ALLEGING INTERFERENCE IN DEEP STRETCH. AFTER A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UPHELD THE OBJECTION AND DISQUALIFIED #8 YINZER FROM 1ST AND PLACED 2ND.
