WESTERN RUN pressed the early pace, moved up to take command at the quarter, drifted out slightly in the stretch but was already clear. DENIZEN settled back to trail after the first turn, gained position between foes up the backstretch, moved up through the far turn to enter the stretch three wide, improved for the place award but was no match for the winner. SUSPICIOUSLY NAMED set the early pressured pace on the inside, conceded the lead at the quarter, weakened to third by the eighth. TRAITOUR tracked the pace three wide, made no bid. JUST NATE raced off the pace on the inside, trailed at the five eighths.
