UPTURNED BRIM sat nicely behind the pace, tipped out exiting the turn to contest the pace, went stride for stride for the final three sixteenths and was able to get the bob. AMERICAN CITY claimed the early lead, vied with SAWYER FOX briefly after entering the turn, gained momentary breathing room until being challenged to duel at the three sixteenths by UPTURNED BRIM, narrowly missed for a gamely finish. INDIAN CAT settled back to be the early trailer, closed willingly along the inside of the stretch, tipped out three wide inside the final sixteenth but was too late. BIG SALT LICK bumped between horses at the start, raced off the pace, showed a mild rally late. CONCENTRATION was fractious in the starting gate, bumped between horses at the start, rated four wide, never threatened. SAWYER FOX pressed the early pace, moved up to vie for command only momentarily in the turn, retreated soon after.
