OPERATION OVERLORD set the pace from the inside and was well handled throughout, shook clear by the quarter pole and then was roused when PEAK PERFORMER was looming off the turn and responded well to draw clear again to prove best under strong left handed crop. PEAK PERFORMER was reserved early two to three wide and made a four wide move on the far turn to loom boldly off the bend but was turned back by the winner and had to settle for being clearly second best. INSPEIGHTOFCHARLIE was well placed two wide and came under a ride by the five sixteenths marker but weakened in the lane, won the battle for the show award. ARK ROYAL was settled three wide on the first turn, continued three wide and then was in between rivals leaving the three eighths marker and then came four wide into the lane and improved. GOLD SOVEREIGN was rated between rivals into the first turn, then made a three wide bid on the far turn but weakened in the lane. BIG DIVIDEND had a slight bobble at the break, settled along the inside and saved ground throughout, came two wide off the bend but had no rally. MORTAL LOCK was off a step slow, settled back along the inside, advanced two wide to be in between rivals by the three eighths marker but lacked a late response. SWAMP FOX prompted the pace three wide and then was in tight nearing the five sixteenths and steadied then dropped back and stopped.
