VASY (IRE) was close up tracking the leaders on the first turn and then checked on heels by the eleven sixteenths marker, then got back into stride and tracked the leaders on the inside to the quarter pole, angled out and came six wide into the lane to make a bid and got up in time to prove best under a drive. DEMOCRACY DEFENDER was four wide into the first turn and then settled while still four wide, made a four wide sweep to vie for command leaving the quarter pole took over leaving the three sixteenths and led into the furlong grounds under right handed crop urging, then switched to the left with eighty yards to go and was denied on the wire. FANCY SAILOR was reserved early, made a six wide run by the quarter pole and came seven wide into the lane and closed well. HEADING was allowed to settle along the inside, moved out to the two path by the quarter pole, came three wide off the turn and moved to the inside by the three sixteenths and made a rail bid but was out-finished. PAY THE PIPER broke in a tangle and was off slowly, trailed early, angled out nearing the quarter pole and came six wide into the lane and had a belated rally. XCEL was four wide into the first turn, rated between rivals and was three to two wide on the far turn and weakened in the lane. OVECHKIN chased the early pace and was three wide on the far turn but weakened. EASY PICK was five wide into the first turn, then pressed the pace three wide and made a bid to vie for command three to two wide by the quarter pole but weakened in the final furlong. VOL DU CONDOR was reserved early, made a five wide run by the quarter pole but lacked the needed stretch rally. MYKONOS set the pace on the inside and then went on even terms by the five sixteenths and gave way in the drive.
