Footnotes
PARIS SURPRISE set a rated pace inside, shook clear in upper stretch and widened under mild urging. COGNOSCENTI was hard held inside, tipped out in upper stretch, could not keep pace with the winner and stayed on for the place. PATRICK'S PROMISE saved ground well back and had a mild rail rally for the show. YANKEE DRUMMER chased the pace two wide, checked near the three-eighths pole, saved ground around the far turn and lacked the needed rally. THE GREAT OSCAR saved ground off the pace, angled three wide near the quarter pole and never threatened. FILM ACADEMY settled off the early pace three wide, advanced outside down the backstretch, bid two wide around the far turn and came up empty in the lane. KING ROSSO prompted the winner two wide, stopped around the far turn, was eased through the stretch and walked off.
