Footnotes
SARATOGA FLASH steadied along the inside on the first turn, then rated along down the backside, traveled well on the far turn and waited behind rivals two wide by the quarter pole, remained behind rivals till tipping out nearing the furlong marker four wide and then made a bid and drove clear and then was given a left handed pop with the crop leaving the sixteenth marker to be clear at the wire to prove best. BLUFF was settled early and in between rivals on the first turn, then advanced two to three wide on the far turn and swung out five wide leaving the turn and finished well to be second best. EL KABONG set the early pace on the inside and then was forced to track the new leader down the backside, was boxed leaving the quarter pole and cut the corner to make a inside bid leaving the turn, got thru on the rail leaving the furlong marker but was out-finished by the top two. MENDELSSOHNS MARCH was settled along the inside and came under coaxing leaving the five sixteenth marker and came into the lane two wide and moved out by the three sixteenths and had a belated rally. ALLEY OOP JOHNNY stalked the early pace and made a three wide bid leaving the quarter pole to go on even terms leaving the turn but weakened in the final sixteenth. BORDER WAR was off a half a beat slow and settled early, moved out to make a early four wide blitz to the front nearing the five furlong marker, set the pace and moved to the inside and then moved out to the two path leaving the quarter pole and vied for command between rivals by the furlong marker but weakened in the final sixteenth. KIGALI chased the pace three wide and weakened on the far turn and then stopped.
