Footnotes
BATTLE OF DOVER tracked the pace three wide, inherited the lead leaving the eighth pole and dug in late to just late. FLY THE W raced off the pace three wide, tipped further out in upper stretch, closed outside and just missed. GRAND DAVID set the pace along the rail, yielded nearing the quarter pole but kept trying inside and held the show. CORTA FUEGO trailed inside, swung out in upper stretch and rallied belatedly. O CAPTAIN saved ground off the pace, angled four wide nearing the far turn and was no threat. RASHID saved ground and failed to menace. LIGHTS OF BROADWAY raced in range two wide, fell over a fallen rival leaving the eighth pole, quickly regained his feet and walked off. SOUPER DORMY stalked the pace two wide, took the lead around the far turn, drew clear in upper stretch, fell leaving the eighth pole and was euthanized. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH AND TOOK NO ACTION.
