PEGGYSUE I LOVE U led the way on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn and held clear to the finish. I LOVE VENEZUELA brushed with the horse to her inside at the start, settled in the middle of the pack on the outside for the run up the backstretch, navigated the bend from the three path, began a bid entering the stretch and gained ground late. ONE SMOKIN' RITA pressed the pace on the outside early, came around the turn in the two path and chased on to the wire. DOWN IN THE BAYOU brushed with the horse to her outside at the break, raced in the middle of the pack on the rail up the backstretch, continued around the turn in the four path and kept on to the finish. TAKING IT ALL bumped with the horse to his outside leaving the gate, recovered to track the leaders from the rail through the opening quarter, saved ground around the far turn and weakened in the lane. AVE FENIX raced at the back of the pack through the opening stages, continued around the bend in the three path and showed no kick. BOSSY DIVA brushed with the horse to her inside at the break, raced off the pace on the outside up the backstretch, navigated the turn from the four path and made no bid. VANISHING WISH bumped with the horses to either side and was squeezed back leaving the gate, raced off the pace up the backstretch, came around the bend in the two path and was empty from there. OUR FORTUNE COOKIE reared up and hit the gate at the start, trailed the field throughout, continued around the turn in the two path and was never a factor. A STEWARDS INQUIRY WAS MADE INTO THE START. UPON REVIEW, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT HORSE EIGHT, OUR FORTUNE COOKIE, HAD A FAIR BEGINNING AND NO CHANGES WERE MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH.
